How to improve your journalling game in 2026 with Cricut

Journalling is such a fun creative way in which people are documenting and creatively scrapbooking their memories. From food labels, to stickers, to envelopes of cards from loved ones, there's no rules to a journal - and that's what makes it so fun!

So how can a Cricut machine help?! Well.. let me tell you. It isn't a way of replacing the good old cut and stick method, as there will always be something extremely satisfying about that (my crafy girlies will know), but it just helps to push those creative boundaties that little bit more.

• Scrap paper/card - what would just be sticking in a bog standard sqaure onto the background of your page, with a Cricut you can create embelishments, cut out designs, scalloped edging, frames for your images - so many options!

• Stickers and labels - create and design stickers which work with your colour scheme or spread theme you might be creating. I currently use Canva to create my templates for the stickers and import them into Cricut Design Space and print then cut. It works well as for personal use you can use Canva elements. They add a nice little touch into your spreads.

• Pocket inserts - ever wondered the best way to cut and score a little pocket envelope and just given up? Well Cricut Design Space allows you to use their templates with Cricut Access, with various envelope options for all your crafting needs. Don't forget - scoring can only be done on certain Cricut machines so make sure it's compatible with yours.

• Create handwriting style labels - using the pen writing option, you can create handwritten labels to insert to your spreads. Whether that's type write style, vintage or others, you can choose what would work for you. Also - it can be in any colours you choose!
